Venezuelan lyric spinto
tenor, from earliest childhood he sang and played the piano, developing a
keen interest in singing and performing.
His voice has been described as buoyant, compelling, clean and resonant.
Combining these qualities of tone with his exuberance and daring, he makes a
captivating figure on any stage in every performance.
In 1989 he went on to study with renowned russian soprano Maria. S. Markina
in the musical institute "Mikhail Glinka" of Dnipropetrovsk in Ukraine.
until he travelled to Kiev where he commenced his studies with renowned
russian tenor
Vladimir Ilich Timohin, and enrolled at
the Kiev State Conservatory P. I. TChaikovsky, graduating five years later
with a first class honors “Master of fine Arts”
Diploma in Opera.
In 1990, he obtains the first prize in the juvenile competition Sergei
Prokofiev of the city Severe-Donetsk in Ukraine.
In 1991 he has studied camera music with Ukrainian-Israeli Professor
Ella
Akritova.
During his stay in Ukraine, he sang at Opera Studio “Eugene Onegin” as
Lensky , “La Traviata” as Alfredo, “The Barber of Seville ” as Almaviva and
“Rigoletto” as Duke of Mantua.
He has worked with many distinguished conductors including Lev Gorvatenko,
Ruslan Doroyivsky, Roman Koffman, Boris Velat, Jan Drietomsky and Pablo
Castellanos.
In 1994 he went to Moscow to participate in the International Competition P.
I. Tchaikovsky, where he has excellent acceptance, also being very well
flattered for criticizes.
Since his professional debut, Bastidas’s operatic engagements have been with
State Theatre Košice
(Štátne Divadlo Košice) in Slovakia.
In the first performed in 1996 of the Opera “Notre Dame” of Franz Schmidt in
Slovakia he take part singing Gringoire.

In 1996 he takes part in the Bratislava international festival of music
“Bratislavske Hodobne Slavnosty” in the Opera “Notre Dame” of Franz Schmidt
performing Gringoire.
In May of 1997 he participates in the international festival of music of
Kosice “kosicky Hudobne Jar” in the Opera “The Barber of Seville ” performing
Almaviva.
With success he has
carried out presentations in European Theaters performing leaders tenors
parts as: Almaviva, Nemorino, Gringoire and Alfredo.
Bastidas’s wide concert
repertoire encompasses lieder, spanish songs, russian songs, latin american
songs, contemporary ,italian and neapolitan songs.
